By combining the essential data infrastructure components SMBs need to run unified communications into one simple to use solution, Nortel is ensuring installation and management is easy and cost-effective. Nortel estimates the single solution approach is up to 45 percent less expensive than purchasing all of these software and components separately.
BSG 4
Business Services Gateway 4 is an integrated and converged multi-service gateway solution for small businesses wanting to take advantage of hosted data and voice services. Supporting unified communications and new security applications through secure broadband access, Business Services Gateway 4 provides basic routing, switching, and sophisticated SIP capabilities. It is specifically targeted at SMB’s, small branch offices and teleworkers with under 20 users.

Business Services Gateway 8 is a multi-service router and gateway solution that can be deployed either as a powerful data networking customer premises equipment (CPE) device or as part of as a managed/hosted service offering from a communication provider. Supporting unified communications and new security applications through secure broadband access, Business Services Gateway 8 provides advanced routing, wired/wireless switching, and sophisticated SIP capabilities. It is specifically targeted at SMBs, small branch offices and teleworkers with fewer than 100 users. The solution supports SIP Phones, a single analog station and fax machines as well as LAN connected PCs or network devices. Utilizing the Business Services Gateway SMBs can conveniently subscribe to data and IP telephony services from a Service Provider or install and manage the gateway themselves.

Business Services Gateway 12 is a multi-service router and gateway solution that can be deployed as a customer premises equipment (CPE) device – a powerful multi service router for all of your SMB’s data networking needs, or as part of a managed service offering from a Service Provider. Designed to securely and reliably deliver data and unified communications applications to small businesses and branch offices, the Business Services Gateway 12 combines multiple functions, including broadband router, sophisticated security services, Power over Ethernet (PoE) managed switch, modular Wi-Fi access point, and a Survivable SIP Gateway all into one easy-to-deploy platform.
